To provide thought leadership on gold bullion and to be the leading investment firm in Southern Africa specializing in title-owned physical gold bullion products and services for serious investors.
What we believe
At SA Bullion we believe that commencing in 2000 gold presents a compelling investment proposition. We see the role of gold not as a competitor to shares, bonds and property but as a competitor to the dollar, the euro, the pound and other leading global currencies as well as the rand. In short, we see gold as the ultimate sure currency in a world where currencies are rapidly losing their traction. We believe that to eliminate the credit risks associated with national currencies and gold derivatives, it is prudent and wise to invest a small portion of one’s wealth in title-owned physical gold bullion.

What we do
At SA Bullion we think out of the box and operate from first principles to create and manage investment products that give clients full exposure to title-owned physical gold bullion at wholesale bullion market prices. We provide investment vehicles for private clients and institutional investors. Over a period of years we worked with the South African Reserve Bank and Rand Refinery Limited to create a Reserve Bank-approved vehicle that guarantees a very considerable supply of wholesale bullion that is VAT-exempt, such that our clients can achieve physical gold ownership in a highly economic manner.
Who we are
We are a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic new-South Africa family business, or two-family business, to be more accurate. Our founder Hilton Davies has a long track record of innovation and sustained success in the investment management field in Southern Africa as a director in the Allan Gray and Foord investment groups. Helen Davies has a twenty year track record in IT systems. The brothers Clint and Imran O’Brien are young, energetic innovators in the technology and marketing field of investment product provision to the marketplace.
Group
The group consists of two companies SA Bullion Management (Pty) Ltd and SA Bullion Investor Services (Pty) Ltd. The necessity for two companies relates to differences of regulatory licensing, the dispensing of financial advice, administration and scale.
SA Bullion Management is focused on the wholesale aspects of Reserve Bank and gold market contractual relations as well as institutional client business. SA Bullion Investor Services is focused on retail client business.
Regulatory
SA Bullion operates under a special dispensation of the South African Reserve Bank. SA Bullion Management (Pty) Ltd and SA Bullion Investor Services (Pty) Ltd are authorized Financial Services Providers and regulated by the Financial Services Board.
